Question

What is the relation between eqilibrium constant and the stability of reactants? Justify.

Solution

The value of equilibrium constant gives us an idea of the extent of reaction. A higher value of equilibrium constant signifies that the reaction mostly proceeds towards the product and there is a greater yield (more stable product) but a lower value of equilibrium constant signifies that the reaction is more towards the reactant (reactant is more stable).
