Open in App
Solution

  1. Speed of sound is affected due to the medium it travels and it is due to the difference of density across mediums.
  2. Higher the density of medium ,faster the sound travels and vice versa.
  3. For example: solid medium (steel)-speed of sound is 5000 m/s.
  4. In liquid medium (water)-the speed of sound is 1500 m/s.
  5. In gas medium (air)-speed of sound is 340 m/s.
