Question

What is the resistance of a connecting wire?

Open in App
Solution

  1. Resistance of a conductor is the opposition/obstruction provided against the flow of current through the conductor.
  2. Connecting wires are usually made with good conductors such as copper.
  3. These wires are used to connect different components (battery, resistors, capacitors, etc. ) in a circuit and if they have any resistance, can cause errors in measurements.

Hence, ideally the resistance of connecting wires should be zero.
