The result of division of labour in terms of gender distinction is that both men and women are stereotyped into certain specific jobs. Traditionally, women have mostly been involved with domestic work while men have been responsible for income earning activities. This distinction has persisted into modern times. Even today, many people feel women should be involved only with domestic work and should not seek to get educated or earn an income. On the other hand, it is felt that men are incapable of domestic work and that such work is beneath their dignity.
