Role:

  1. As the sperm travels through the urethra, the prostate gland secretes an alkaline fluid that makes up around 25 to 30% of the semen, providing easy transport for the sperm.
  2. Sperm production is stimulated by the secretion of the prostate gland.
  3. It does not allow the sperm to coagulate.
