The spinal cord is concerned with the following three functions-
1) Reflexes below the neck
2) Conducts sensory impulses from the skin and muscles to the brain
3) Conducts motor responses from the brain to muscles of the trunk and the limbs
4) It acts as the main centre for reflex actions.
5) It acts as a link between spinal nerves and brain.
6) It participates in conscious actions.
