Reflexes perform many jobs for our central nervous system. They protect us from danger, they help us move our body, they help us see, etc. Reflexes are VERY important.
For example, when we unknowingly touch a hot object, we immediately withdraw our hand. This is a reflex action.
When we walk into bright light from a dark room, our eye adjusts to the light. This is also a reflex action.
So reflex action is very important in our day-to-day actions as well as when we are in danger.
