What is the smallest vein?

Open in App
Solution

Vein:

  1. Veins are the blood veins that collect blood and transport it from different regions of the body to the heart.
  2. These veins contain valves to stop blood from flowing backward.
  3. Except for the pulmonary veins, which carry oxygenated blood from the lungs to the heart, they carry deoxygenated blood.
  4. Compared to arteries, veins have less elastic and thinner walls.
  5. Their lumen is broad. There is little pressure since blood moves smoothly and slowly within veins.
  6. Venules are the smallest veins in the body.
