a. The southernmost point of Indian union. is Indira Point
b. It is located in the Andamans and Nicobar island, in its Nicobar district
c. The Indira point is named after former Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi.
d. Earlier it was called as ​ Pygmalion Point and Parsons Point.
e. It was also reffered as INdia point.
f. Indira point was largely impacted because of Tsunami in 2004 and was washed out.
g. However, later t
he light house there which was damaged due to Tsunami was repaired. As per the survey, geologists stated that the sea was slowly retreating back to its original position.
h. Indira point was impacted and major part of it was submerged because of Tohoku earthquake in 2011.
i. However, it continues to remain the southern most tip of the Indian union.
