Question

What is the statement of rate law?

Open in App
Solution

Rate law is the expression in which reaction rate is given in terms of molar concentration of ractants with each term raised to some power, which may or may not be same as stoichiometric coefficient of the reacting species in a balanced chemical equation.

For example: 2NO + O2 --- 2NO2

hence the rate law = k [NO]2 [O2]

here k is rate constant
