In Liliaceae family, the stems are herbaceous, fleshy in some plants; aerial branches are erect; some develops underground stem rhizome, corm, bulb etc. secondary growth in Yucca. Dracaena, Aloe; the inflorescences may develop on a special aerial stem known as scape.
