A storm is defined as a disturbance caused in the atmosphere when the ocean develops a low-pressure zone.
It is an acute disturbance of the atmosphere that is coupled with light or heavy rain, the mighty wind, snow, and hail, sleet, or thunder and accompanied by lightning.
During a storm, the wind has a speed of 64 to 72 miles per hour.
Step 2 : Structure of storm :
Eye – It is the center of storm, with low pressure and area of sinking air. Its diameter ranges from 10-100 Km.
Eye Wall – It is rapidly rising dense cloud surrounding eye having maximum wind speed. It causes maximum destruction.
Spiral rain bands – It is a band of clouds spiraling into eye wall and it contains heavy rains.
