Given, each grid occupies 0.5 mm2.


Number of grids occupied by fig. A = 4
Number of grids occupied by fig. B = 8
Total number of grids occupied by both the figures = 4 + 8 = 12 grids

= 12 × 0.5 mm2 = 6 mm2
