Each Organism's Traits Are Inherited from a Parent through Transmission of DNA.
Through their DNA located in their sex cell.

Each parent provides 23 chromosomes (egg and sperm cell) which combines to form the zygote of 46 cells. Meiosis then occurs. Many, many strands of DNA are located on each chromosome. The DNA contains “inheritable traits”, blueprints to a human, such as eye colour, hair colour, skin colour, etc.
