Solution

The correct option is B 26
First we solve 23+(14).
As both the integers have different signs, we will follow the below steps.

Step 1: Write the absolute values of both integers.
|23|=23 & |14|=14.

Step 2: We subtract the absolute values.
2314=9

Step 3: Put the original sign of the larger number to the difference. 23+(14)=9

Given question is (23+14)+(17)=?

We just calculated (23+14)=9. So, replacing (23)+(14) with 9, we get
(23+14)+(17)=9+(17)

Now, we need to add two integers 9 and 17. Since both the integers are of same sign, we can follow the below steps.

Step 1: Write the absolute values of both integers
|9|=9 & |17|=17

Step 2: Add the absolute values
9+17=26

Step 3: Put the original sign of the integers to the sum
(9)+(17)=26

Hence, the value of 23+(14)+(17) is 26.

(b.) is the correct option.
