Question

What is the value of atmospheric pressure at the sea level?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student , Atmospheric pressure at any level is interpreted as the total weight of the air above a unit area at any elevation . Now , at sea level the weight of air column is higher than air at higher level as at higher elevations there are fewer air molecules above a given surface than a similar surface at lower levels . This is the main reason behind the atmospheric pressure being more at the sea level . Regards
