What is an unbiased condition?

Solution
An unbiased condition:
The minority charge carriers in the n region and p region are holes and electrons in a p-n junction diode.
When there is no external energy source, the condition is unbiased.
When the p-n junction is unbiased, the current is zero because the drifting of charge is the same from both sides.
There is no net movement of charge in a particluar direction so the current is zero.
In an unbiased diode, the depletion layer between the n-type and p-type materials is where the electric field is set up.
This barrier potential for a silicon diode is roughly
0
.
7
V
at ambient temperature.
The width of the depletion layer in the unbiased conditions is about
1
μ
m
.
