Solution

The correct option is C 756.2 torr
Molecular mass of sucrose=(12×12)+(22×1)+(11×16)=342 g mol1

χsucrose=1.713421.71342+1818=12001200+1χsucrose=1201=4.975×103

At 100C,Psolvent=1 atm=760 torr
When a non volatile solute is added to a volatile solvent, the vapour pressure of the solution is lowered as compared to pure solvent.
For dilute solutions, relative lowering of vapour pressure is given by :
ΔPPsolvent=χsucrose

PSolventPsolutionPsolvent=4.975×103

760Psolution760=4.975×103

Psolution=756.21 torr
