What is the velocity (in cm/s) of image in situation shown below. (O=object,f=focal length). Object moves with velocity 10 cm/s and mirror moves with velocity 2 cm/s as shown.

Let us first find the position of the image .
1v+1u = 1f
1v+110 = 110
v=5cm.
Let the velocity of the image be V towards the right .
With respect to the mirror , image will have a velocity of V2 and the object will have a velocity of 102=8
On differentiating the mirror equation , we get
Vv2+Uu2 = 0
(V2)52+8102 = 0
V=2+8×52102
V = 0
