What is the volume of a cube whose total surface area is 216 sq cm?

Open in App
Solution

Total surface area of the cube = 6 × (side)2
or 216 = 6 × (side)2
or 2166=Side2 (On dividing both the sides by 6)
or 36 = (side)2
or (6)2 = (side)2
or 6 cm = side
∴ Side of the cube is 6 cm.
Now, volume of the cube = (side)3
= (6)3 cm3
= 216 cm3
