A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nm.
Our eyes are designed to detect a small portion of the electromagnetic spectrum.

This part of the spectrum is called the visible light region. The visible light region ranges in wavelengths from about 380 or 400 nm to 700 or 780 nm depending on which source is used.
