Solution

Virus:

  1. A length of nucleic acid (either DNA or RNA), encased in a protein coat, makes up a virus, an infectious bacterium.
  2. A virus can't multiply by itself; it has to infect cells in order to utilize the host cell's components to make copies of itself.
  3. Some of the largest viruses have particles that range in size from 20 nm to 500 nm.
  4. A large virus-like the vaccinia virus weighs 10–17 kg, while a little virus called the Brome mosaic virus weighs 10–21 kg (attogram).
  5. By multiplying the mass value by Avogadro's number, it is possible to determine the molecular weight of viruses.
