Initial energy of the car $= \frac{1}{2} m u^{2}$
Final energy of the car $= \frac{1}{2} m v^{2}$

Work done $W = c h a n g e i n e n e r g y = \frac{1}{2} m (v^{2} - u^{2})$

$W = \frac{1}{2} \times 1500 \times ({16.67}^{2} - {8.33}^{2})$

$W = 156375 J$
