In the first case:
Using photoelectric equation, we have

where, W is the work function.
In the second case:
hcλ=5hν6W
hcλ=66×1034×3×1081215×1010
=6.6×1034×3×1081215×1010×1.6×1019
=10.19 eV
5hν6=W+10.19
We know that: hν=W+13.6
hν6=3.41
hν=3.41×6
Therefore, Workfunction, W=3.41×613.6
=20.4613.6=6.86 eV
Work function of metal =6.86 eV
