Question

What is the result of vector cross product?

Open in App
Solution

Vector cross product: It is defined as the binary operation on two vectors in 3 dimensional space. It results in a vector that is perpendicular to both vectors.

Mathematically represent as A×B=|A||B|sinθn^ where Aand B are two vectors, |A|and |B|are the magnitudes of the vectors, θ is the angle between two vectors, n^ is the unit vector perpendicular to the plane containing the given two vectors, its the direction given by the right-hand rule.

Thus, the result of cross product vector is always a vector.
