Question

What is the thermal equilibrium example?

Open in App
Solution

Thermal equilibrium:

The constant temperature at which the whole amount of solid melts. Both the solid and the liquid coexist in the thermal equilibrium when the solid converts into liquid.

Some examples of thermal equilibrium are given below:

  1. The person traveled by car to his destination. During that time, the engine temperature was too high, but after a while, the temperature decreased to the surrounding air. Thermal equilibrium occurs when the engine temperature is equal to the atmospheric temperature after a period of time.
  2. When a cup of hot tea is put on the table and after a short period of time, the temperature of the tea is the same as the surrounding temperature. This is the point of thermal equilibrium.
  3. The deep ocean is also in thermal equilibrium with the surrounding temperature because it barred the thermal vents and the strong ocean current.
