1. Tissue culture is the technique of culturing cells, or tissues in a culture medium to propagate plants.
2. The bud, shoot apex, or some other part is used for micropropagation when vegetative propagation is not possible in a plant.
3. This is called an explant.
4. It provides rapid propagation of identical individuals.
5. Usually, the plantlets obtained are disease-free.
