Defining transitive relations.

  • A transitive relation is a binary relation in set theory.
  • A transitive relation is one in which a relation R on a set A is said to be transitive, if a,bR and (b,c)R, then (a,c)R, for all a,b,cA.
    Example: If A is a subset of B and B is a subset of C, then A is also a subset of C.
