What is transpiration and why is it important for big sized plants?
Transpiration
Transpiration is the loss of water in the form of water vapor. It can take place through stomata, lenticels, and cuticles. Based on the pore through which transpiration takes place, transpiration is of three types:
Transpiration is important for big-sized plants because it helps in the conduction of water through the plant. Transpiration creates a suction or pulls in the xylem vessels as a result of which water transports through the vessel.
