Open in App
Solution

Turgor movements in plants are often reversible and are caused by changes in the “turgor pressure” in specific cells. For example, some plants exhibit different flower positions during the day than at night, some beans, often display different leaf positions from day to night. One of the main reasons for the leaf reactions is changes in the internal water pressure, usually found in tissue at the base of leaflets.

Examples:

  1. Leaves of Mimosa plant folds and droops down when anyone touch them.
  2. Leaves of Medicago marina plant close or sleep at night whereas opens up during day time
