Urethra is a tube that helps in emptying the urinary bladder.
Roles:
In human males, it is known as the urinogenital canal as it is responsible for the release of both semen as well as urine.
The semen contains the male gametes (sperms) swimming in a fluid medium.
The ureters bring urine from the urinary bladder and empties into the urethra.
In females, it is only a part of the excretory system.
