Organisms depend on other organisms for their survival. A food chain represents only a linear sequence of organisms through which nutrients and energy pass as one organism eats another. For example, Grass → Rabbit → Snake → Eagle makes up a food chain. A network of multiple food chains connected to each other is called food web. Food web represents all the food relationships between organisms in an ecosystem.
