What is vapourization?

Open in App
Solution

  • Anything which we can feel has mass and occupy space is called matter.
  • Water is a matter which can exist in three states. i.e., solid, liquid, and gas.
  • We can convert liquid water into steam by boiling and this conversion can be called vapourization.
  • When we increase the temperature, the kinetic energy of the molecules increases which causes them to escape into their surroundings.
  • Evaporation is also an example of vapourization.

Thus, the conversion of a substance from the liquid or solid phase into the gaseous phase is known as vapourization.
