Yeast is unicellular organism belonging to kingdom fungi. Fungi includes organisms that have saprophytic mode of nutrition and contain chitin in cell wall. Yeast also contains chitin in its cell wall and also has saprophytic mode of nutrition so it has been included in kingdom fungi.
