What kind of joint is present in elbow and knee?
Hinge joint
Hinge joints are joints which allow only back and forth movement like the hinge of a door. Example: Fingers and toes, knee, elbow, etc.
In ball and socket joints, one bone is hooked into hollow space of another bone. This type of joint helps in rotatory movement. Example: Shoulder.
Pivot joint is a type of synovial joint in which a circular bone rotates upon the axis of another bone. Ex: Neck.
Gliding joint is mainly found in those regions where the two bones meet and glide on one another in any of the directions. Example: lower leg to ankle joint and the forearm to the wrist joint.
