Due to the harsh climatic conditions, the number of people living in mountain areas is less. Generally, two types of housing pattern can be seen on the mountains.
The first type of settlement is the scattered settlement. In such settlements, the houses are scattered over a large area. the houses are made of mud and have low roofs.
The second type of settlement is the clustered settlement. In such settlements, all the houses are concentrated on a particular slope. The houses are generally wooden houses and may be joined wall to wall.
