(a) Imperialism of the European Nations.
(b) Aggressive Nationalism.
(c) Militarism.
(d) Diplomatic Groupism.
(e) Political complications in the Balkans.
(f) But the immediate cause was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, the Crown Prince of Austria, by a Serbian nationalist at Sarajevo which was the Bosnian Capital, on 28th June, 1914. This led to the outbreak of the First World War.
