Question

What mass in kg of K2O contains the same number of moles of K atoms as a present in 1 kg of KCl?

Open in App
Solution

Ok so the molecular weight of kcl=74g/mol.
K2o= 94 g/mol

1000g (1kg) divided by 74 g/mol = 13.513514 moles of K+

In k2o, there are two k+ atoms, so divide the molecular weight by two.

=47 g/mol

47*13.513514= 635 by my phone's calculator.
= 0.635kg
