The atomic masses of Na, N and O are 23 g/mol, 14 g/mol and 16 g/mol respectively.
The molecular weight of NaNO2 is 23+14+2(16)=69 g/mol respectively.
Thus, 69 g of NaNO2 contains 14 g of nitrogen.
The mass of nitrogen in a 50.0 g sample of sodium nitrate is 50.0×1469=10.1 g.
