Solution
Growth in animal cells:
There are multiple mechanisms triggering growth and division in animal cells.
Different gene combinations help animal cells that help to coordinate the division and growth of animals.
In organisms like yeast, the division of cells is coupled to growth as the entry into a new cycle depends on reaching some threshold growth rate or size.
This is analogous to many animal cell types.
Whereas in other animal cell types, the division does not depend on the growth and cell size can be maintained via constant levels of growth factors and mitogens acting through independent signaling pathways.
It is evident now that some extracellular elements serve as both mitogens and growth factors that help in triggering intracellular signals which in turn facilitate growth and division.
