Microbes:

  1. The organisms that are too small to be seen without the use of a microscope are referred to as microbes.
  2. Examples: Bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa, viruses, etc.

Food poisoning:

  1. Many bacterial strains can cause food poisoning
  2. Examples: Clostridium botulinum and E. coli.
  3. Most cases of food poisoning will take 1 to 5 days to fully recover from the symptoms.
  4. Food poisoning is detected through a stool sample which checks bacterial growth.

Treatment:

Anti-diarrhea medicines, such as bismuth subsalicylate or loperamide.
