Let the number be $x$ ,
$2 \frac{1}{7} = \frac{15}{7}$
so $\frac{15}{7} - x = \frac{17}{21}$
$x = \frac{15}{7} - \frac{17}{21} = \frac{28}{21} = \frac{4}{3}$
In mixed fraction it can be written as $X = 1 \frac{1}{3}$ .
Hence, if we subtract $\frac{28}{21}$ from $2 \frac{1}{7}$ , we get $\frac{17}{21}$ .
