Solution

The correct option is C

9

We know that (a+b)2=(a2+2ab+b2), where (a+b)2 represents a perfect square.

If we observe carefully we can understand that x2+6x can be made into the form (a2+2ab+b2) by adding a constant to it.

On comparing (x2+2(x)(3)+constant) with a2+2ab+b2 we can say that 32=9 should be added.

Now, x2+2(x)(3)+9=(x+3)2

where (x+3)2 is a perfect square.

So, 9 should be added to x2+6x to make it a perfect square.
