Solution

Glucose level in blood:

  1. Glucose is the main type of blood sugar in the human body.
  2. The body’s cells get the major source of energy from glucose which can be made from other substances or comes from the foods we eat.
  3. Bloodstream carries glucose to all the cells in the body.
  4. The glucose level is regulated by the hormones insulin and glycogen which are secreted by the pancreas.
  5. Insulin stimulates glycogenesis and converts glucose to glycogen.
  6. Glucose is stored in the liver as the substance of glycogen.
  7. Glucagon stimulates glycogenolysis.
  8. Glycogen is then converted into glucose when required.
