Skin is the largest organ of our body. It accounts for 15% of an adult human's total body weight. It covers our entire body and has a surface area of around 2 square metres. Its thickness varies from 0.5 mm on our eyelids to 4 mm or more on the palms of our hands and the soles of our feet. In total, it accounts for around 16 percent of our body weight.
