The chemicals that are responsible for clearing the weeds from an agricultural field are called weedicides.
Removal of weeds removes the competition for the crops growing in the field.
Precaution while spraying weedicide:
Farmer should cover their face firmly, so that aerosols can not enter into their nose,eyes and mouth.
Farmer should wear full sleeve clothes, so that aerosols can not contact their skin.
Spraying should be done at the time when wind velocity is low, as the high velocity wind may spread the harmful aerosols in the air.
One should take care of direction the of wind as well while spraying weedicide.
Spraying in the opposite direction of the wind may spread the aerosols of the weedicide chemical over the body of the farmer by the wind.
Reason for precaution:
Weedicides can have acute health effects on human.
Immediate health effects from pesticide exposure includes irritation of the nose, throat, and skin causing burning, stinging and itching as well as rashes and blisters.
