Infectious diseases:
Infectious diseases are the diseases caused by various pathogenic microorganisms such as virus, bacteria, protozoan, fungi, and other parasites.
These infectious diseases can be transmitted by animals, humans, insects or other agents.
Infectious agents are present all around us, and they come in different shapes and sizes.
Some infectious diseases are communicable also like common cold, cough, tuberculosis, chicken pox, measles, etc.
Precautions to reduce diseases in school:
Staying away from the infected person if he/she is suffering from communicable type of infectious disease and if possible avoiding attending school when infected with an infectious disease.
Covering mouth or nose while coughing or sneezing to prevent the spread of disease.
Drinking safe water and eating healthy food, which most preferably include the home-cooked meals.
Keeping the school environment clean to prevent spread of diseases in the absence of any infected medium for the transfer of pathogen.
