Earthquake is the sudden violent shaking of the earth's surface caused by the sudden breaking and movement of tectonic plates.

Some of the preventive measures of Earthquakes are as follows-
1. Seek shelter under stable tables.
2. Earthquake proof planning and design of the buildings.
3. Elevators and telephone line should not be used during the earthquake.
4. After the earthquake, gas lines, water and electricity pipes should be checked.
