Solution

Valves -

  1. There are valves in the heart that regulate the blood flow from auricles to ventricles and various parts of the body.
  2. These valves work like a door, which opens only in one direction.
  3. The heart has four valves:
  4. The bicuspid valve is present between the left auricle and the left ventricle. It controls blood flow from the left auricle to the left ventricle.
  5. The tricuspid valve is present between the right auricle and right ventricle. It controls blood flow from the right auricle to the right ventricle.
  6. The pulmonary valve is present at the base of the pulmonary artery. It allows the flow of blood from the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery.
  7. The aortic valve is present at the point of origin of the aorta. It controls the flow of blood from the left ventricle to the aorta.
