Question

What prevents the blood from going into wrong direction?

Open in App
Solution

The valves open and close preventing it from going backwards.. However, if the valves stop working correctly, then some of the blood might try to go backwards and the heart will have to pump harder in the other lobes to make it go the right direction... This is why some people have artificial valves.
